WIDOW'S GIFT TO CHARITY. LONDON, February 10. Apart from the late Lord Riddell's most generous donations to charities, his widow announces that she will devote £100,000 given to her by her late husband to the building ami equipping of a nurses' residence at St. Thomas' Hospital. Lady Riddell was a nursing sister 35 years ago. She thus completes the work which Florence Nightingale inaugurated at St. Thomas' when she gave' the proceeds of her testimonial in 1800, amounting to £40,000, to the Nightingale Nursing School, which was the first of its kind in the world.
