NEW CHURCH.

ANGLICANS OF HUNTLY. CONSECRATION CEREMONY-. The new brick building for the Church of England at Huntly, which replaces the wooden building that was destroyed by fire in October, 1933, was consecrated yesterday morning by His Lordship, Bishop C. A. Cherrington. There was a very large congregation. Before the service the Bishop, attended by the chancellor, Mr. H. M. Morris, and preceded by the clergy, church wardens and the choir girls, circumambulated the church, and after receiving the key, the Bishop entered the church. The church, which has been erected at a cost of approximately £1100, has seating accommodation for 200 people. A weather porch belfry vestibule, baptistrv and vestry are all provided. The interior of the building is of terra cotta blocks up to about four feet high, and the rest with cream facings. All the arches and portals are picked out in terra cotta blocks of Gothic order.-, A stained glass window is erected in the sanctuary, and there is another in the baptistry. The windows are built in Flemish tracerv brickwork. ■ A feature of the church is the sanctuary arch and wall, which are built of autumn-tinted terra cotta blocks, the frieze of the sanctuary being of cream facing bricks. The building was designed by Mr. N. Oreenwell, of Huntly, and erected under his supervision". Since the old building was burnt down services have been held in the Masonic building. At a service last nisrht the bell presented by Mrs. F. Littleproud Was dedicated by the Bishop.
