FINAL AT ROTORUA. CARLTON RINK'S SUCCESS. FINE LEADING BY LITTLE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTQRUA, this day. One of the greatest finals ever witnessed during the existence of the Rotorua liowling Club was seen this afternoon, when the annual open tournament was concluded. The winners were' Little, Jenkin, Higgott and de Launay (Carlton), who defeated Sutherland, Elowerday, Livingstone and Robertson (Onehuuga) by 22 points to 19 on the 21st head. The teams were evenly matched, but the outstanding feature of the play was Little's leading for de Launay. He drew with regularity and uncanny precision at any length. On the first head Little drew the shot, but was robbed by Eloweitlay. Higgott rested him back for the shot and the head was not altered by the skips. On the second head Little again drew the shot and Jenkin got another. Elowerday drew absolute. De Launay 1, Robertson 1. On the third head Sutherland had a toucher on kitty, only to be replaced by Little. The position was not altered: de Launay 2, Robertson 1. On the nineteenth head Little put two on kitty, Jenkin adding a third. Livingstone played a running shot into the head, saving two. Robertson drove at the head, but missed. De Launay 22, Robertson 10. Little drew the shot on the twentieth head, but was robbed by Sutherland. Livingstone added another, neither being disturbed. De Launay 22, Robertson 18. On the twentyfil-st head Little drew two on the jack, de Launav then plnving for position. _ Robertson drove at the head, and hitting a wide bowl, succeeded in wicking the jack out of the green. On th" replay Little got two touchers, Jenkin adding a third. Livingstone drove twice at the ..head, missing both times. Robertson again killed the head. On the replay Little atrain drew the shot, and Robertson again killed the head. De Launay 22. Robertson 19. In the semi-finals Robertson 22. beat V. Mason (Rotorunl 11, and de Launay 25, beat Hosking (Carlton) 13.
