CONDITIONS IN TARANAKI. A BUSY PERIOD. (I>y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The past week has been one of the busiest on the Taraiuiki live stock market for several years, the major part of the business being, of course, with sheep and lambs. There has been spirited bidding under the hammer, while trading through private treaty has been fully maintained.

Store Sheep.—Competition is very keen under the hummer uiul no lots have been paused at any of tlie .several fairs of the past week. (Jood rape lambs made to 17/1, others 15/; gooil .store lambs, 14/3 to 15/9; cullm, 8/ to 11/0; Koiiiney ewe lambs, 17/3 to 18/6; medium, 10/0 to 1(5/(5; good white-fated wether lambs, 14/7 to 15/11; i medium sorts, 12/5 to 13/1; average to b'ood white-faced ewe lambs, 10/3; smaller, 13/1 to 14/3; medium to /jod white-faced 111.8. lambs, 14/4; two-tooth wethers, 21/0; email, 17/9; good tour and five-year breeding ewes, 20/6 to 21/6; live and six-year ewes, 18/(5; aged and on the thin .vide, 13/; one-shear Romney rams, 4%gK to Private sales include the following: 2100 shorn wether lambs at 14/, 200 medium wether lambs at 12/, 200 ewe lamba at 17/; 200 w.a. wethers at 21/6, 500 good two-tooth ewes at 30/, 400 fiveyear ewo.s at 19/9. Fat Sheep.—There is little inquiry in tin's section for other than local requirements. Fat ewes made up to 17/0; fat wethers. 24/ to 25/6. Beef Cattle. —Keen inquiry for fat bullocks exists in this section. They make up to ;i;7 4/; other sorts, £4 12/6; fat eows. £5 ]/; lighter soils, £4 12/0: forward four and live-year steers, £5 10/. Store Cattle. —The majority of the offerings arc reject cows, for which disappointing values rule. Boners made 15/; good-framed young cows, 25/ to 30/; paddock cows, £2 10/; weaner calves showing type and quality, 25/. Pigs.—A weakening tendency is displayed in this section. The ranges of values is: Baconers, up to £2: good porkers. £1 15/6; lighter, £1 12/6 to £1 14/; light, £1 8/; good-conditioned stores, £1 5/ to £1 6/; lighter-conditioned sorts, £1 1/ to £1 3/; good slips, 17/0 to 18/; others. 15/; good we.iners. 11/ to 12/0: average, 9/ to 10/; small, 7/6 to 8/.
