BATHER DROWNED.
SWEPT OUT BY UNDERTOW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Saturday. A drowning accident occurred 'it Castleclifl Beach this morning, when Mr. Alan Francis, single, aged 20, lost his life. In company with Donald Coull, aged 11, he went'fur a swim above the usual bathing place. He was caught in the undertow and swept out to sea. • John Coull. aged 17, who was on shore, swam out in an endeavour to reach Mr. Francis, but was unable to do eo. Tho. younger boy Coull was also in difficulties, but just managed to get ashore in safety.
