Lovesong was second in the Carlingford Mile, in which Broccoli was successful. TATTERSALL'S CLUB. PRINCE PALADIN FOURTH. ADELAIDE, February 3. The New Zealand-bred gelding Prince Paladin finished fourth in the Vice-Regal Handicap, one mile and a quarter, at Tattersall's Club races at Morphetville, Adelaide, yesterday. ASCOT MEETING. SHINING GOLD JUST BEATEN. MELBOURNE, February 3. The New Zealand-bred gelding Shining Gold was narrowly defeated in the Federation Welter, one mile, at the Ascot races yesterday. Maybe, 8.12 (Murphy), and Earl Leicester. 8.9 (Evaps), dead-heated for first, with Shining Gold. 8.5 (Percival), a head away third. Time, 1.43%. First Money was unplaced in the Flying Handicap, six furlongs.
