Crowds of Invalids Attend Faith-Healing. ENGLAND'S FIRST CHURCH. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 25. Invalids in bath chairs, men on crutches, and many doctors and nurses were among the crowds who flocked to services held in England's first faithhealing church at Brighton, as a preliminary to the Rev. John Millard's laying-oil of hands to-day. The scene resembled a religious revival. Mr. Millard's voice vibrated as he said: "Is God powerless in the presence of cancer, consumption or paralysis? Certainly not. We receive many benefits from science, but none of us pretends that is the only means which God uses." LIBERALS' SUPPORT. FOR LLOYD GEORGE'S PLAN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 25. A meeting of Liberal party leaders, presided over by Sir Herbert Samuel, gave a most cordial welcome to Mr. Lloyd George's campaign, being convinced of its value as a stimulus.
The meeting noted with spccial satisfaction that Mr. Lloyd George had put in the forefront the need for a reduction in barriers to international trade which, in its view, were the main cause of continued unemployment. AIR LINER RETURNS. STORMS OVER TIMOR SEA. DARWIN, January 25. The de Havilland Empire air mail liner piloted by Captain Alan Youell. which left Darwin with mails at 7.30 a.m. to-day for Koepang, returned owing to bad weather over the Timor Sea. The flight will be resumed tomorrow morning.
