BRITAIN'S SMALLEST P.O.
Britain's smallest post office has to be seen to be believed. The loneliest postman serves it. It is Garsdale Head Post Office, hidden in a dip of the remote Yorkshire fells, 1U miles from anywhere, and it is nothing but a tin hat, measuring 9ft by 6ft. There is a tiny fireplace, for in the winter tho loneliest postman must spend nine hours of his day in the hut. Cottagers and farmers whose homes lie some distance off the road post their letters in hollow trees or chinks in the walls which serve for hedges in the Yorkshire fells, and lie knows exactly where to look for them.
