LIFE SAVING.
DEMONSTRATION AT TITIRANGI.
Demonstrations of the latest methods of dealing with apparently drowned persons were given before a large gathering of members of the Titirangi Women's Institute by a team from the Milford Girls' Surf Life-Saving Club at the Titirangi Beach. The way to approach and handle a person in difficulties in the water Was shown by a team comprising Misses K. Taylor, R. Hinton, G. Sevi, E. Forrest, and J. Taylor. Miss C. Sherrif described the rescue and release methods, and also the resuscitation and the way to combat shock by means of hot blankets.
An exhibition of a rescue was given with reel and line by a team composed of the following: Misses O. Mersant (patient), R. Wilson (belt), E. Forres£ (resuscitator), R. Taylor (second line). G. Sevi (third line), C. Sherrif (reel).' Miss M. Brown captained both teams.
