GOLF TOURNEY.
North Shore Open Event — Results of First Round. The North Shore Golf \Club's summer tournament Was continued to-day, when the conditions were excellent. A feature of the morning's play was the fine play of J. B. Graham, a Wanganui school who did a round in 73. I. Matthews, a Christ's College boy, also showed fine form in a round of 78. These two fads, with 4 up, tied for the bogey handicap. The results of the first round of the open championship are:— Wilson (Middlemore) beat Lines (Whakatane), 6 and 5; J. B. Graham (Feilding) beat Lawry (Napier), 5 and 3; Earl (Maungakiekie) beat .Jeffrey (Miramar), 5 and 3; Eustace (Otahuhu) boat MeCrystal (Titirangi), 2 and 1; Stevens (North Sjiore) beat Napier (Whakatane), 5 and 4; Bush (North Shore) hpat McCorkindale (North Shore), 3 and 2; Clifford (Titirangi) beat Randrup (Titirangi), 2 and 1; Brown (North Shore) beat Nicholas (Tc Puke), 2 and 1. The first round of the North Shore handicap resulted: — Matthews (Miramar) beat Becroft (Port Albert), 5 and 4; Crespin, jun. (North Shore) beat Cash more (Akarana). 5 and 4; Reed (North Shore) beat Harrison (Whangarei), 5 and 4; Nicalaus (Scotland) beat Surman (Whangarei), 3 and 2; Chambers (North Shore) beat Robertshaw (Raetihi), 2 and 1; Thompson (Titirangi) beat Woolley (Maungakiekie), 5 and 4; D. Graham (Feilding) beat Martin (Onewhero), 2 up: J. Graham (Feilding) beat Beaumont (Titirangi), 1 up.
