WINE CAMPAIGN.
ITALIAN PROPAGANDA Special Train Fitted With Improvised Bars. CHAMPAGNE AT 5/ A QUART. (United l'.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright! (Received 1 p.m.) MILAN", December 27. The Federation of Italian Winegrowers, in a desperate effort to induce their fellow countrymen to recover the habit of winedrinking, has equipped a propaganda train which carries 12,000 gallons of wine. On the train there are several improvised bars, at which choice vintages are offered at remarkably low priccs, including champagne at 5/ and 7/ per quart. The train travels the length of Italy with bars open day and night. Despite the low price charged for wine throughout the country the modern Italian prefers beer or coffee, while young men concentrating on athletics drink mineral waters and milk.
