NEVER HEARD.
TALK OF DEPRESSION. * CONDITIONS IX ENGLAND. "During our six months' holiday in England we never heard any talk of depression," stated Captain Montague Pollev, who, with Mrs. Polley, returned to Auckland by the Oronsay. Captain Polley mentioned this fact in support of the firm impression he had obtained that England is well on the highway to prosperity again. Mr. Policy has been in business in Auckland for four years, and on making his first trip in that period to his native land he was 011 the look-out for anything of New Zealand interest. He was impressed with the very friendly feeling towards New Zealand and the desire to trade with it. Many of his friends, he found, had New Zealand butter 011 their tables. It was selling at 1/2 a lb on his arrival, and a penny dearer towards the end of his visit. One of the Dominion products which he thought offered a profitable avenue for business was New Zealand made nigs, which were highly appraised throughout the world, and freely bought by visitors to these shores, but not seen in English shops.
