WON BY HYPERION. PERTH, December 27. The West Australian Turf Club's annual carnival was opened to-day. The West Australian Derby resulted as follows: —Hyperion, 8.10 (Callinan), 1; Bivalve, 8.10 (Miller), 2; Staunch, 8.10 (Morley), 3. Five started. Won by two lengths and a half, a head between second and third. Time, 2.435. HEADMASTER PLACED. SYDNEY, December 27. At the Kensington races to-day Headmaster ran second in the-second division of the Flying Handicap. Norman Conquest was not placed. REHANDICAPS. HAWKE'S BAY CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
