KEMAL PASHA SCORES. SILVER STREAK'S SPRINT. FOUR HOUSES COME DOWN. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. Steady rain throughout the day affected the attendance at the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting to-day. The track was not affected for the early races and in the hurdles Black Duke (who beat Morena and Jolly Beggar) knocked two-fifths of a second oil' the track record for a mile aud a half, his time being 2.45 3-5. The totalizator handled £10,582 for the da}', compared with £10,488 for the second day last year, making a total of £25,237 for the meeting, compared with £24.420 last year. The going later became greasy at the far turn of the course, where several horses fell. The lirst mishap occurred in tlio principal race, the St. Andrew's Handicap. After rounding the far turn Polydora, who was moving up past Some Shamble, fell and brought down Some Shamble and Ranelagh. Kirwan, rider of Polydora, broke a collar-bone. An inquiry was held into the accident and it was found that it was due to the slippery nature of the going. In the Allanton Handicap Clirysology fell at just about the place where the tlirco horses came down in the principal event. Later results: — NOVICE HANDICAP of JUIOO.
