N.I. RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIP. SOLER AND DOIDGE SHOOT OFF H. SIMMOXDS IS THIRD. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.)' WANG A NUT. Thursday. An excellent finish was provided to the North Island rifle championship meeting at Putiki this afternoon. F. J. So lor and A. Doidge tied for first, place in the final shoot for the championship belt pi 1 then fired three extra shots to decide the match. They tied again, however, hot it men scoring 13 out of 1.5. It then remained for them to decide the championship by a "shot for shot." competition. Both men scored bulls with their first shots, but Doidge "broke" with bis second and Solcr scored another liull. thereby winning the championship belt and cup. Soler also won the Marybank aggregate. The Putiki aggregate was won by F. S. King, while ,J. D. Christian won the 1* grade challenge cun. Cantain H. Sinv monds, of Auckland, won the "Chronicle ' Cup for third place in the championship.
