SOUTHERN EXCHANGES.
BUSINESS IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The announcement of an unchanged rate of dividend for New Zealand Breweries caused the market to sag slightly this morning. Sales were made 2d and 3d lower than yesterday's quotations. Another feature of the morning call was activity in Mount Lyells; 400 changed hands at 17/7 and 17/8, those being buyers' and sellers' closing quotations. More buyers are appearing in the Government section, and it looks as if sales may be made shortly at these lower levels. Reserve Banks were weaker, with business at £6 11/3, and further sellers at that figure but no buyers. British Tobaccos improved, with sales at £2 1/8 and £'2 1/0. Quotations for Australian Glass from £3 1/3 to £3 4/ were higher. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
