DRAMATIC CIRCLE.
CLOSE OF BIRKENHEAD YEAR
The three-act comedy "Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch" was read, in character, at the final gathering for the year of the reading and dramatic circle of the Birkenhead Women's Association, held at the home of Mrs. Stanley Mills, in Marama Terrace. The principal parts were taken by Mesdames A. E. Wood, Stanley Mills, R. 11. Ilayman, R. O. White, A. McNeilage, Leahy, Norton Misses A. G. Willis, Yoland Ross, Gertie Bell, Joyce Atkins, I. Denliam, Helen Taylor, Rosemary Ross, the younger members of the circle taking the parts of the children in the comedy. There was a good attendance of members and friends, who greatly enjoyed the evening. Mrs. A. E. Wood, who presided, conveyed appreciation of the action of Mrs. Stanley Mills in placing her home at the disposal of the circle for monthly gatherings, and presented her with a pair of gloves. This gift was augmented by floral bouquets. In recognition of assistance given towards the dramatic performances, Master Cecil Mills also received a present. The supper was served by Mesdames J, P. McPhail and Ireland.
