MANAGER ARRESTED.
RIGHT TO INSPECT BOOKS,
BUENOS AYRES, November 21
The Argentine Senate's Meat Investigation Committee yesterday ordered the arrest of Richard Tootel, manager of an English packing company owned by the Vestey interests of London. Tootel is charged with abolishing the company's cost accounting office and refusing to inform the committee's accountants how it figured its costs. The committee also alleges that Tootel admitted burning records and sending books abroad. The Supreme Court uplield the Government's right to inspect the books of foreign companies, and sustained fines of 5000 pesos upon each of seven English and American meat packing firms.
