THICKEST FOR YEARS.
DENSE FOG IN LONDON. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 21. London last evening experienced the thickest fog for years. Motorists were held up on the outskirts of the city and forced to abandon their cars. Taxi drivers who were taking theatregoers home refused to proceed. Many were forced to seek accommodation in hotels, which were crowded out. There were people sleeping in the lounges and smoking rooms. The fog also caused the postponement of the wool sales to-day.
