WEDDING.

LAVELLE—SELF. Very attractive was the wedding of Miss Ethel Noel Self, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Self, of "Oakley," Shelly Beach Road, Heme Bay, and Mr. Sydney Jamos Lavelle, second son of Mrs. Lavelle, Seatoun, Wellington, which was performed at All Saints'

Church, Ponsonby, by the Rev. W. W. Averill, last evening. The service was fully choral, Dr. Phillips supplying the wedding music. Girl friends of the bride decorated the church in white blooms and light foliage. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a becoming ivory gown of Venetian point laee. The skirt was fashioned with an intricately cut back panel, which graduated into a long train, and the bodice, with lonp; tight-fitting sleeves, had a small basque with a roulette of ivory marti crepe at the wTliotline. The collar was trimmed with the same roulettes. A billowy tulle veil formed the second train, and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom buds. She carried a sheaf of madonna lilies.

The bridesmaids were the Misses Tliurl Donald, Nesta Self (bride's sister), and Marjorie Suter. They wore charming frocks of lime green angel skin lace, with high necks and cut square at the back, and attached to the bodices were trails of hand-made green lace roses. The skirts had accordion pleated hems which flared into short trains. Wreaths of pink and mauve sweet peas were worn as headdresses, and they carried shower bouquets of the same flowers.

The best man was Mr. W. Muric (Wellington), and the groomsmen Messrs. E. Daniels (Wellington) and George J-iead. Ushers at the church were Messrs. Stanley Self, Tom Peaeocko, and J. W. Manning. A reception followed at the residence of the bride's parents, where pink and mauve floral decorations furthered the effective colour scheme. Mrs. Self was frocked in nigger brown lace, taffeta coat, and brown and gold picture hat, and carried a bouquet of golden brown pansies. Mrs. Lavelle (bridegroom's mother) wore black lace over shell pink, large black picture hat, and carried a

bouquet of pnle pink rosps. Mrs. Owrn Self was in a sapphire blue crept: .suede and tulle bandeau headdress to tone. The wedding supper, which included 200 guests, was served in a marquee, and dancing was enjoyed in the drawing room and lounge.
