WOMEN'S DIVISION.
BRANCH REPORTS. Karaka.—The president, Mrs. Higham, welcomed a senior member, Mrs. Hodgson, to the meeting and offered her congratulations on her recovery from a long illness. A vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. Sim was recorded. A useful parcel of clothing, made by Mrs. Slack and helpers, was received for distribution to needy cases. The competition was for 'the heaviest yield of potatoes grown from one potato, and resulted in Mrs. Wright first, and Mrs. Wood second. The treasurer reported that the flower
show recently held by the branch had been a success financially. Miss Colquhoun gave a pianoforte solo, and members joined in community singing. Hostesses were Mesdames Bolton, Crow and Schooler, and Misses Bolton and Wright. Riverliead. —Arrangements were made for a Christmas tree for the children, the proceeds of the monthly dance to be devoted to that object. The bring and buy table did good business. The winners of the competition wfere Mrs. Woolnougli and Miss Winchester. Mrs. Rosser donated a prize.
Takanini. —Arrangements were made for a garden party to be held at the president's liome next month. A vote of sympathy was passed to a member who had lost her home and its contents by fire. A competition for the most original bouquet was won by Mrs. Gee, with Mrs. Perkins second. Most useful article costing Gd resulted in Mesdames Gee and Atkinson (tied) first, and Mrs. Claude second. The exchange table was in charge of Mesdames Netz and Perkins. Hostesses for afternoon tea were Mesdames Claude and Atkinson.
Pukekawa. —The fourth birthday of the branch wag celebrated in the Pukekavva Hall on Wednesday, when members from numerous branches and visitors from other movements were entertained. Mrs. M. G. Orr, president, welcomed those present, and Mrs. Noel Adams gave a brief address on the work of the movement, at the conclusion of which two tiny girls presented her with a bouquet. A Scotch reel was danced by the Misses V. and J. Henderson, M. Liddle and J. Read, the members of the Pukekawa'junior branch gave a one-act play entitled, "A Full-blown Rose/- and
