CAR ON LINE.
TE AROHA ROAD COLLISION. OCCUPANTS JUMP CLEAR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. A collision occurred near. Paeroa yesterday between the Taneatua express and a small car which was on the line. The car was driven by Mrs. Turner, of WaihL It was proceeding towards, Paeroa, and on the crossing on the Tc Aroha road the engine stalled as'the train was approaching, and the car could not be started in time. As the train drew nearer Mrs. Turner and the other two women occupants had time to jump clear of the line. The engine driver was unable to pull up in time, and as the bonnet of the car was foul of the engine the car was turned completely over. The car sustained considerable damage to the engine and radiator. The train was pulled up in a short length, and no further harm was done.
