BELFAST LAUNCHING.

LORD BLEDISLOE'S TOUCH

NEW BLUE STAR LINER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At 10.30 this evening the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, by pressing a button at Government House, will release the electric impulse which will launch the Blue Star liner New Zealand Star at the shipbuilding yards of Harland and Wolff, Belfast.

Prior to the actual launching, his I'.xcelleney will speak eonceruin™ developments of trade between the United Kingdom and New Zealand, and his remarks will be heard by those assembled at the actual launching on the other side of the world.

The ceremony will also be broadcast in New Zealand, it will commence at 10.25 p.m., this time coinciding with Hie time set for the cercmoi'iy at Belfast, namely, 10.25 a.m. on the morning of Novell her 22.

the New Zealand Star is the second of three ships which are the latest edition to the Blue Star Line's fleet tor the carrying of trade between the Dominion and the United Kingdom. These vessels have been specially designed for carrying cargoes of chilled beef. I his is the first time in New Zealand that a launching of this nature will be carried out.

The circtiit to bo used for the return communication will embrace the following places:—Belfast, London, Portlicurnow, Gibraltar, Malta, Alexandria, Port Sudan, Aden, Seychelles Islands, Colombo, renang, Singapore, Batavia, Cocos Islands, Cottesloe (West Australia i, Adelaide, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington. These circuits will be reserved for the ceremony, but cable traffic will not be impeded, as there are alternative routes available for other requirements.
