STOWAWAY ON NIAGARA.
Handed over to the police upon the arrival of the Niagara, from Sydney this morning, an Englishman, Frederick Butler, aged 32, whose address was given as Masterton, was later charged in the Police Court with stowing away on the vessel at Sydney on November 8. He pleaded guilty. The police said he was found after the Niagara had put to sea. He was a seafaring man. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., fined Butler the amount of the fare, £7 10/, in default 14 days' imprisonment.
