METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB.
The Metropolitan Gun Club held its usual monthly shoot on Saturday afternoon at Mangere. There was a very good attendance of shooters and friends. The first seven target sweep was won outright by I* J. Stent, 14yds, with the possible. Nine other shooters broke six each. The chief match was the 15 target annual competition for the T. H. Pettit Cup. After an interesting shoot four competitors tied with 14 breaks each, viz. : A. N. Bull, 11yds, L. Peterson, 19yds, V. H. Seccombe, 17yds. and P. J. Hazard. 14yds. They shot off for the trophy. Bull dropping out at the 32nd bird. Hazard at the 23rd and Peterson the 20th. leaving Seccombe the winner. A trophy donated by the Colonial Ammunition Company was shot off in a seven tarfret friincrack, back 2vds a shot. T.,. .T. Stent, 12-24 yds, and h. Peterson, 16-2Syds. divided with the possible and shot off for the trophy, Peterson eventually winning on the 12th bird. A final double rise of five pairs was won outright by P. 11. Seccombe, 15yds, with 8 breaks.
