MANY CONTRASTS.
Duke of Gloucester's Varied Engagements. "KNIGHT OF THE ROAD." MELBOURNE, November 0. A programme of many contrasts was carried out by the Duke of Gloucester to-day. After addressing the cadets at the Flinders naval depot he visited the Commercial Travellers' Club and had conferred upon him the honour of a "Knighthood of tho Road."
His Royal Highness' next visit was to tho conference of the Empire Service League, where he was welcomed by men from all corners of the Empire. To them ho conveyed the greetings of the Prince of Wales, whose message said that no part of his tour in 1920 covered such happy memories as his meetings with the ex-servicemen in Australia and New Zealand.
There followed a visit to the polo matches on the Moonee Valley racecourse and luncheon with the oflicials. The Duko watched the games for four hours and then returned to the city to attend the Victorian Government's garden party, and later a brilliant dinner to mark the installation of Mr. A. G. Wales as Lord Mayor of Melbourne.
