DOMESTIC SERVICE.
I sincerely hope that domestic service will never become popular. Certainly it never will until there is a drastic change in the attitude of employers. It is strange that, while women profess to be struggling for "emancipation." there should be such antagonism among themselves. Those of them who employ "servants' derive great satisfaction from according them less-than-dojr treatment. The girls, on their part, arc driven to a restrained hatred and contempt. Unless women are going to treat one another with mutual respect and consideration, no matter what position chance or the times have thrown them into, surely their real enemies will be. not men and tradition, but themselves. DOMESTIC SERVANT.
Domestic work in private houses, will never be satisfactory until, with other trades, it is made the subject of an award under the Arbitration Act. Without this protection it is just an opportunity for a system of exploitation. A DOMESTIC.
