MOONEE VALLEY MEETING. NIGHTLY "WINS GOLD CUP. CHATHAM THE COX PLATE. MELBOURNE, October 28. The New Zealander Nightly was not extended to win the Moonee Valley Gold Cup at the Moonee Valley races yesterday, and his performance was regarded as a great trial for the Melbourne Cup, in which he is now liable to a rcbandicap. Another New Zealander, Peter Jackson, won the Moonee Valley Cup last year, and yesterday's minor placegetters, Miramond and Upoko Ariki, were both bred in the Dominion.
