FAIR WEATHER TRIP.
NIAGARA FROM VANCOUVER. AUCKLAXDEES COME HOME. A fair weather, uneventful trip across the Pacific was experienced by the Union Company's Royal mail liner Niagara, which arrived at Auckland from Vancouver, via Island ports, this morning. The vessel, which is carrying a number of visitors to the Melbourne centenary celebrations, -will continue her voyage to Sydney to-morrow evening. Among the Aucklanders who returned by the liner were Mr. and Mrs. John Hellaby. They have been away for five ; months on a visit to England. Dr. J. E. Caughey, accompanied by; his wife and two-year-old son, returned after four years spent in various hospitals in London. Air. Harvey Turner returned after a brief business visit to Fiji. Dr. L. C. L. Avcrill, of Christchurch, made an extended visit to obstetrical and gynaecological clinics in North America, principally in New York. At the Columbia medical centre he studied with Dr. B. T. Watson, under whom he was formerly a house surgeon at the Edinburgh University.
