EARTH FALLS ON ROAD.
MISHAP NARROWLY AVERTED
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, this day. A serious accident was narrowly averted on Saturday evening when residents of Raurimu were motoring to a football dance at Kaitieke. Two car 3 with numerous passengers were negotiating a dangerous part of the road near Mr. H. Wedde's residence, Kaitieke, when a fall of earth, estimated at about 100 tons, came down between the two cars. The driver of the rear car reversed gears and kept clear of the slip. Motorists who had arrived at the dance before the slip came down had to return to Raurimu by way of the Oio W.
