TUNNELLERS' STRIKE
RETURN ON OLD CONDITIONS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Waipori tunnellers who were on strike on Saturday resumed work on the old conditions this morning with the addition of graduated allowances for work on the rise. About 28 men engaged in driving a. new tunnel for the electric works at Waipori went oil strike on Friday evening as a result of a disagreement, principally on the score of wages. Most of the men belong to the West Coast and . i the North Island. I A conference was held with the coni tractor, the secretary of the Employers' E Association and the secretary of the • General Labourers' Union, but proved r unsuccessful/ The men claim that the work is of a 1 hazardous nature and that they are i entitled to a higher rate of pay than they axe receiving,
