FOR CITY AND PROVINCE.

The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawliia and Hamilton: — Liglit to moderate but increasing nortli-east to northerly winds, weather fair to fine and mild, seas smooth to moderate. A moderate depression is approaching across yie Tasman Sea. The southern portion should cross the South. Island to-day. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: —Wind, N.N.E., moderate; sea smooth; fine and clear; visibility good; barometer high and steady.
