SERVANTS—BY ORDER.
A new terror has been added to life for young German girls. The Hitler Government's policy of conscripting youthful labour has not proved a success as Tβgards girls, inasmuch as the girls in the La'bour camps consume more food than ■they produce by field work. So there is to be a change. The new idea is to do something for the middle class. In a population of 65,000,000 there are fewer than 1,000,000 domestic servants. Now the German Government is to draft girls to service for one year—without pay! The girls will have to do domestic work in exchange for their food.
