TILDEN'S DOUBLE SUCCESS
(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, October 1. In the professional tennis tournament Tilden defeated Plaa, 6 — l, 7—5, 6—2, and Maekell defeated Gledhill, 6—2, 6—l, 4—o ; 6 —i. Tilden later won the tournament and received a gold cigarette case. In the doubles Tilden and Gledhill defeated Maskell and Plaa, 6— i, 9—7, 6—4.
