TENNIS.
Y.M.C.A. CLUB. The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Tennis Club was held at the Y.M.C.A. yesterday, Mr..,J. Orrosby, club captain, presiding. A detailed report of the activities of the club was presented by the secretary and the balance-sheet showed the club to be in a satisfactory financial position. It was decided to renfflllate with' the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association and to enter teams in interclub competitions. It was reported that a fifth grass court had now been laid down and would be ready for play for the coming season.
The election of officers resulted as follows : Patron, Mr. J. McCoskrie ; president, Mr. B. B. Kitchener; secretary. Mr. W. 0. ; Thomson ; treasurer, Miss B. Steele; club captain, Mr. J. Ormsby; vice-captnin, Mr. J. Lanlgan ; executive committee, Mesdaraes Waddell and Wilson, Misses M. Adams aDd Kitchener, Messrs, W. H. Fortune, H. Ledger, D. Stewart, J. Dunsjnulr and H. Tregear; delegates to Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs. O. Thomson and J. Dunsmuir.
MOUNT ALBERT CLUB, The report presented at the annual meeting of the Mount Albert Lawn Tennis Club showed that the relaying of the sis grass courts in the past year had effected a still greater improvement to the lawns. The three chip courts had been an excellent standby for wet weather and for play during the winter months. , Trophies for winners ot competitions were awarded as follows :—Men's championship singles. Mr. G. Coles; junior men's championship singles, Mr. D. McDougall; men's championship doubles, Messrs. O. and G. Holdsworth; men's handicap doubles, Messrs. E. W. Wyllie and J. Lawrence; ladies' championship singles, Miss E. Butler ; junior ladies' championship singles, Miss M. Burton ; ladies' championship doubles, Misses T. Lauder and B. Lee; ladies' handicap doubles. Misses E. Butler and E. Burton; combined handicap doubles, Mr. G. Coles and Miss T. Lauder.
The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. F. Clive Ellis; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. A. L. Caugbey, C. W. Coles and A. C. Stevens; lawn superintendent, Mr. S. F. Woodroffe; secretary and treasurer, Mr. L\ Sumner; hon. auditor, Mr. C. V. Marshall; general committee, Messrs. E. L. Burton, A. T. Garllck, W. K. Holdsworth, A. S. Miller, S. A. Stevens and E. W. Wyllie ; ladies' committee, Mesdames E. M. Miller and A. Sinclair, Misses E. Butler, M. Phillipson and G. Sussex; delegates to A.L.T.A., Messrs. J. N. Thompson and E. W. Wyllie; selection committee, Messrs. I. Boagey and G. Coles and Miss B. Lee.
WAIKATO EAST ASSOCIATION. MATAMATA, Thursday. A good credit balance and a successful playing season were reported at the. annual meeting of the Waikato East Tennis Association, at Tirau. . , ~ It was decided to form two zones, north and south, instead of three, as was the case last vcar. The following teams were nominated": —■ Northern section — Seniors: Hinuera, Matamata (2) and Walton. Juniors: Hinuera (2), Matamata (2), Walton (2), Richmond Downs (2). Southern section —Seniors: Putaruru, Tirau and Te Whetu (2). Juniors: Putaruru (2), Tirau, Te Whetu, Okoroire Hall and Rangapai. The election of officers resulted: —Patron, Mr. J.
