AFTER HOLIDAYS.
British Political Activity* Will Resume. CONSERVATIVE CONFERENCE. (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, September 20. Political activity in Britain is being renewed after the autumn holidays. The Conservative party conference opens at Bristol on October 4. The official agenda, which has now been issued, is of special interest because the party is numerically the most powerful in the existing system of co-operation between the political parties supporting the Government. First place is given to a resolution expressing unequivocal confidence in the National Government. A motion likely to arouse discussion invites the party to condemn certain propositions of the draft policy on Indian reform upon which the report of the joint select committee of Parliament is still pending. It is recalled, however, by "The Times," that the Conservative party recently decisively refused to do this.
