CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR.
CONSECRATION RALLY. The 42nd annual convention of the Auckland Christian Endeavour Union, which has been held since Saturday, concluded with a consecration rally in the Baptist Tabernacle on Wednesday. It was preceded by a procession of witness up Queen Street from Quay Street, in which sonic 220 Eiidcavourers took part, ]ed by the Saivation Army band. At the Tabernacle the retiring president, Mr. Ralph Gebbie, presided over a large attendance, and during the evening the officers for the ensuing year were inducted into office. President, Mr. A. Sutherland: president designate, Mr. 11. J. Maiden; vice-presidents, Rev. E. E. Smith (Onehunga), ,Rev. F. J. Parker (Mount Eden). Kev. 11. Goring (Mount Albert), Rev. A. Murray Gow (Central and Western); secretary, Miss W. M. Green; assistant secretary, Miss O. Gary; treasurer. Mr. If. Clarke. An address was given by the incoming president, Mr. A. Sutherland. Greetings were received from Miss Jennie "Street, Mr. K. 11. Melvin (Dominion president), and Kev. W. T. Blight (president Young Men's Interdenominational Youth Council). Other meetings held in connection with the convention included the junior jubilee rally in St. James' Hall on Saturday, when 400 juniors gathered, and the intermediate rally, also on Saturday, in the Pitt Street Sunday school hall. Sunday was observed in many churches as Endeavour Sunday, endeavourers in some cases taking the service. The annual representative assembly was held on Monday at the Y.W.C.A.. "opening witli a discussion on "The Society Worth While," introduced by Rev. G. I. Laurenson. and including the election of officers and the presentation of reports by the secretary and treasurer. Xumerically the union showed an increase, the figures standing at 75 societies, 30 junior and 17 intermediate.
