RAILWAY REVENUE
INCREASE IN NET EARNINGS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The railway working account for the four-weekly period ended August 13 shows that the net earnings amounted to £25,523, compared with £15,098 for the corresponding period last year, an increase of £9527. The gross revenue was £440,054, which was £33,120 more than last year, and expenses were increased by £23,293 to £414,559. For the period from April 1 to August 18 the net revenue was £300,SSS, compared with £247,780 last year. The gross revenue was £2,356,033, an increase of £142,013. The expenditure was £2,055,745, an increase of £58,1i05.
