ONE THEATRE FOR 1,300,000 PEOPLE.
MEXICO CITY, August 22. I A world capital with but one theatre is the status that Mexico City will attain this autumn. The cinemas have so won the amusement-seeking public in this city, which has a population of some 1,300,000, that the theatres gradually began to disappear until'only six of them were left of the nearly forty that flourished here a decade ago. Of these six, five are now being prepared for "talkies." The lone remaining theatre has but a small following, as it specialises in non-musical comedies and farces.
