PEACE WITH IRELAND. Long Private Conversation With de Valera. DISPUTE MIGHT BE SETTLED. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, September 9. A representative of the "Sunday Express," after a private talk lasting 40 minutes with Mr. de Valera, expresses the opinion that the misunderstanding' between Britain and the Free State could be removed if the British Government sent a new negotiator to Ireland, one who had not taken a hand in the previous negotiations. Mr. do Valera answered several questions for publication but has not added anything to his known views. He claimed that the economic condition of the Free State is improving. Mr. de Valera admitted that the agricultural community had suffered, but said that suffering was not confined to one side.
