CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. The Auckland Gun Club held its opening shoot of the season at Pakuranga on Saturday. The outstanding feature of the shoot was the fine performance of the veteran sportsman, I. Lomas, who won both important shoots with the possible, all first' barrels. Details: — Visitors' Handicap, of five birds.—This match was divided by M. McCallum, If. North, A. U. Wells. R. Xehoff and H. Potts, with four birds each. Ten-bird Handicap, open.—l. Lomas and F. McKenzie shot the possible and divided lirst and second money, L. Ramsay, C. Hodge, E. Nixon and R. Nehoff shot nine birds each. Fifteen-bird Handicap, open.—E. J. Schofleld trophy: I. Lomas shot the possible and took the trophy and first money. The nest best were L. Ramsey, H. Potts and 51. MeCallnm. with 13 birds each. Double-rise Match, five pairs of birds.— L. Ramsey shot the possible and took first money, the next best being H. North, with nine birds, E. .T. Schofield land R. Xchoil following with eight birds each.
