THEATRE FROCKS.

The early part of the Victorian period is the frocking of that delightful musical play, "Waltzes From Vienna," which opened at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday evening. Femininity ie expressed in the charming fashions of that day, when hooped skirts, hip panniers poke bonnets, and frills and furbelows were enhanced by exquisite - colours and fabrics. t Miss Sylvia Welling; as Countess Olga Baranskaja, wears a bJuish green panne velvet, which was hooped. The deep border of the skirt was of white duchess satin, appliqued in velvet ivy "f leaves, and a ; wide panel of white lace frills was inset from the waist to the heni. The jabot at the neck was fastened with a diamante clasp. Exquisite was the white satin hat, with its flat crown and clusters of white ostrich feathers, and she carried a minute white parasol, bordered with green fringe. Her second gown was a wide hooped skirt, composed of cloth of silver with train of sapphire blue oanne velvet. The bodice had a very deep I bertha of glistening silver lace, and the sky blue ribbon of her order, crossed from shoulder to waist, was caught with a large diamond cross. The cape and train worn for some time with this gown wa> of the same coloured velvet, with deep border of ermine. Beautiful was the tiara of brilliants, which held an ostrich feather at one side of the head. Miss Jean Duncan, as Thereso (Rese) Ebeseder, wore her three frocks with charm. The first was pale rose pi/.k I crepe de chine, appliqued with narrcjw ribbons. Miss Ivy Kirby is like a, water sprite, in-.'her pastel green tulle ballet frock, with'tight bodice and bouffant skirt, and demurely carrying a tight posy of Dime rosebuds. . The complete ballet was attire'd in similar manner. Her second frockiwas of briar rose tulle over satin.
