SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
Among many delightful morning t»-i parties given on Saturday, at Milne and Choyce, Limited, Miss Eileen Adkins was entertained by Miss Rlma Bowl°s. The tables were artistic in purple ijrapa irises and pink blossoms. Among those present were: Mesdames F. Neil, G. H. Broome, Misses Eileen Adkins, Marjorio Cerutty, Vera.Dewing, Alison Laery, Noeline. Worthy, Rozanne'Lovell,.Linda de Renzy, Mary Cruickshank, Ida Jackson, Kathleen Aickin, Darrie Heather, ' Mavis McCulloch. • , • * . * ■/ i * Hostess at a jolly morning tea party on Saturday, held in the Tudor room of Milne and (Jhoyce, Limited, was Mr«. Leith Napier, of Brooklyn Flats, assisted by her daughter Jean. Golden poppies supplied the floral decoration for the table. Among those present were Mrs B. Napier, Mrs, C. Gibbs, Mrs. E. Rudman, Mrs. Penty, Mrs. A. Bullock, Mrs. G. Fox, Mrs. H. Haines, Mrs. G. Hirst, Mrs. J. B. Mrs. J. Parr, Mrs P. A. Herman, Mrs. Rout,-Mrs. Alan Montgomery. • 1 . • ; * * • A delightful send-off was given at Milne and Choyce's Tudor Tea Rooms on Saturday to Mrs. W. H. Tongue, of Remuera, who, with her husband, leaves by the Niagara for. a three months' sojourn in Außtraliay doing also the Melbourne centenary and West Australia. The tables were nicely decorated. Miss E. St. George acted as hostess. Amongst those present were: Mesdames W. H. Tongue, J. K. Black, H. Urquhart, E. Wilson, R. E. N. Matthews, A. I Barton, N. St. George, B. Samuel, N. Norgrove, Mieses E. St. George, H. Mcintosh, M. Tongue. . - '• ■ .' •■ * ", • The ladies of the St. Andrew's Society gave an enjoyable social in the rooms of the National Council last Friday afternoon. The guest of honour was Mrs. W- H. Tongue, of Remuera, who leaves fdr a visit to Australia by the Niagara. The rooms were beautifully decorated in Iceland poppies, and during the afternoon Mrs. Tongue was the recipient of a writing outfit, including a fountain pen and pencil. Vocal solos were rendered.by Miss B. McLaren, and elocutionary numbers by Mrs. R. Matthews. Mrs. Praill acted as accompanist. The competition prizes were won by Mrs. Kohn and Mrs. Appleby.
