PADDY'S MARKET.

PAPATOETOE FUNCTION. . The Papatoetoe committee of ' the Plunket Society held a very successful I "Paddy's Market" on Saturday after- | noon and evening in the Public Hall, Papatoetoe. The hall was decorated with largo branches of greenery and spring flowers, and with the stalls and decorated prams and bicycles presented a gay scene. The president, Mrs. J. Kendall, introduced Mrs. W: W; Massey, who opened the show. At the conclusion of. her address Mrs. Massey and Mrs. Kendall were presented with beautiful bouquets of spring flowers by Miss Pat Valentine and Miss Mavis -Harr. The success of the function was evident from the 4arge sum which was realised, and will be devoted to Plunket work in the district. r Phe committee responsible included Mrs. Kendall, president, Mrs. E. Bray, secretary,. Mesdames J. Valentine, F. E. Carr, A. G. Grinter, P. G. Wyman, H. D. Wily, T. Richards, R. G. Ross, and G. Hodge. Cake competitipns were won by Mrs. .Carr, Miss M. Wilson • and Miss D. Ward. Stallholders of the produce, cake, sweets, jumble, dip and ice-cream 6talls were: Mesdames W. J. Nicholson, G. Peacocke, A. G. Grinter, D. Wiiy, P. Swaffield, E. Bray, 'R. G. Ross, Valentine, J. Kendall, T. Richards, Ansell, P. Wyman, P. Hill, Misses P. Hill, M. Wilson, G. Sutton.
