HUSBAND'S FATAL INJURIES.
NEGLIGENCE OP COMPANY.

CHEISTCHURCH. Tuesday,
Damages amounting to £1425 were awarded Mrs. Mary Helen Broms by a special jury in tho Supreme Court today. Plaintiff's husband, Jacob William Broms, who was employed by Davis Gelatine (N.Z.),.Limited, was killed in an accident at the company's factory in Woolston last December. Plaintiff sought £2000 damages on behalf of herself and her three children from the company.
The •jury'-found that the defendant company had been guilty of negligence. With others plaintiff's husband was hoisting material with the aid of a derrick, when the derrick gave way, hitting him on the head. He died on the way to hospital. • Plaintiff alleged negligence in the conitrutftion of tie derrick.
