SCRIPTURE EXAMINATION
RESULTS.
The results of the 40th annual Scripture examination were, announced at the f monthly meeting of the council of the Sunday School Union, held under the chairmanship of Sir. Wm. Kew, president. He said that 2289 candidates had • eat, representing 169 schools. This showed an increase over last year's figures of 472 candidates. In all 474 prizes had been awarded, and there were 709 first class certificates, 585 second class certificates and 258 passes. '{ The examination: is divided into six grades according to.< age. A special prize, known as the president's px-ize, is awarded to the candidate receiving the highest number of marks. -The winners this year were:—Grade I.: i\ D. East, North Memorial Baptist. -'Grade II.: Kathleen Ashton, Henderson Methodist. Grade III.: Betty Carnachan, Mount Eden Congregational. Grade IV.:" Ethel'Thomson^Tβ Hapara Baptist. Grade V.: Olwyn Morris, Tabernacle Baptist. Grade VI.: Norma Nicholson, Sandringham Baptist. Four shields are awarded according to the size of the school. The winners were: — Division-A,'Mount Albeit Methodist; 8,l AvondaU Baptist; €_, Kaiaku; D, Ilunuaj k Presbyterian. J!
