'... .. ...... £2.214,700~ (a) Holders are asked to express any preference they may have In respect or maturity dates in these cases. Every endeavour will be made to meet such request. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the holders of debentures or other securities issued by the Dunedin City Council in respect of the abovementioned loans that it is intended to convert'all such'debentures or other securities (except those in respect of which dissent is duly signified) into new debentures, having new maturity dates and bearing interest at 4 J per cent, per annum. The Dunedin City Council reserves the - right to redeem all or any of the new debentures the specified maturity date of which is a date later than the Ist day of April, 1940, on such date prior to the date so specified (but not earlier than the Ist day of April, 1940), as the said Council may fix by notice in that behalf published in the Gazette at least three months before such date. The conversion will take effect from the Ist October, 1934. Application for conversion must be made in writing and be accom panied by the securities to which it relates. Dissent from the conversion of .any existing debentures or other securities may be signified by the holder by notice in writing delivered to the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Dunedin, on or before the Ist day of October, 1934. If notice of dissent from the conversion of any debentures or other securities is not received by that date, the securities will be, converted. The rate of interest on any debentures or other securities in respect of which dissent is signified as aforesaid will, by virtue of Section 18 of the above-mentioned Act, be reduced to two-thirds of .the original rate as from the Ist day of October, 1934. Further particulars as to the new debentures and the conversion generally may be obtained, by correspondence, from the Town Clerk (or by personal application to the City Treasurer), Town Hall, Dunedin, or, in respect of holders of any debentures to which this notice applies, who are resident outside of Dunedin, from any branch of the Bank of New Zealand.
