Mr. Dennis Johns, who has been adjudicating at the Hawera- competition*, returned to Auckland yesterday. The Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., and Mrs. Bloodworth left for Wellington by; the Limited express last evening. " Mr. F. J. Hartley, of the Dunedin Post Office, has been transferred to Auckland. He left Dunedin on Saturday morning. Mr. A. G. Lunn returned from Wellington this morning by the Limited express, after attending a conference ot building societies of New Zealand. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the No. 2 Licensing Authority, is in Hamilton, presiding over the sitting of tho authority there to-day and to-morrow. The Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C., and Mr. L. W. Nelson, members of tho Native Affairs Commission, left Auckland for the South by the afternoon express yesterday. Mr. K. A. Spinley, president of the New Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association, leaves for Wellington tins evening to attend a conference ot accountants. The Eey. A. Greig, the oldest Presbyterian minister in New Zealand, was and Southland Synod on attaining hi* congratulated yesterday by the OLt£o ninty-sixth birthday. Mr. Ronald Syme, of Oxford University, returned to Auckland from Taranaki last evening. He is at the Grand Hotel until Friday, when lie sails for England by the Kangitane.
