The, selection of the New Zealand team caused quite a stir among the visitors. Jt looks as though Collins, Max and Knight will be omitted from the second Test side at Sydney next Saturday.
Every All Black is keen to win tomorrow. The older ones feel that defea; would risk their chances of being included hi the team for England, as i cry would go up in N'cw Zealand fA' more youth.
The ground was watered yesterday at the request of tlife New Zcalanders, and now is softer.
Rain clouds are banking up, and suggest that -to-morrow's match may be played on "heavy ground, which would enhance the All Blacks' chances as much as it would detract from Australia's.
The All Blacks' captain, E. D. Kilby, accompanied by S. J. Malcolm, the Australian half-back, arrived in Brisbane by' air from Sydney this afternoon. Kilby was warmly welcomed by his colleagues. His injured knee is making progress, and it is almost certain that lie will be fit for the final Test match on August 25. He is sure to play against Newcastle on Wednesday as a try-out.
The remaining 1934 fixtures are:— August 22, v. Newcastle District, at Newcastle. August' 25, v. Australia at Sydneysecond and filial Test. September 1, v. Rest of New Zealand, at Wellington. . It should be noted that only two Tests were arranged for this tour —the first at Sydney, which Australia won by 25 points to 11 on August 11, and the other at the same place on August 25.
