GOLDEN JUBILEE At THAMES. PARADE THROUGH TOWN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. The golden Jubilee of the Salvation Army Corps at Thames was celebated during the week-end with enthusiastic services. Colonel Orsborn presided, and Major Hayes, Auckland Divisional Commander, took part in the services. The Waihi Silver Band was in attendance. A community service last evening was preceded by a 'parade of members of the Volunteer 'Fire Bririade, Returned Soldiers, St. John Ambulance, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, headed by the Sixth Havuaki Regiment and Waihi Silver bands. The first meeting to form the corps was held in St. George's Hall. Pollen Street, in February, 1884. The first officers were Captain Francis and Lieut. Hodgson. Of those who attended the inaugural meeting, the only survivors are Mesdames Willetts, Smith, Baker, lug'jr and IngersoiJ.
